Tradosでよく使用するショートカット

Tradosを使用し始めて約半年が経過しました。Tradosを使用する前は、秀丸等を用いて上書き翻訳を行っていたので、正直に言えば、Tradosにより翻訳の作業効率は低下していました。というのも、上書き翻訳と違って、Tradosだと基本的にすべての用語をうちこまないといけないからです。しかし、最近Tradosの講習を受講し、少しだけ効率化ができる方法をマスターしたので、紹介します。

• 訳語が登録された用語を読みだす際のショートカットキー　Ctrl+Shift+l（エル）キー

原文内で、あらかじめ登録された用語は、認識されています（赤線）。
訳文内でCtrl+Shift+l（エル）キーを押すと、この登録された訳語を入力することができます。

• 固定要素を入力する際のショートカットキー　Ctrl+,（カンマ）キー

原文内に訳す必要がない要素（固定要素）には、赤線が引かれています。固定要素としては、数字、日付、時刻、ハイパーリンクなどがあります。訳文内でCtrl+,（カンマ）キーを押すと、この固定要素を読みだし、入力することができます。

特許翻訳者にとって、一番使用頻度の多いキーボードにこそ、投資すべきと思い、少し前に、ネットで評判がいい「東プレのキーボード」を購入しました。

テンキーレスのコンパクトなタイプで、机上にスペースがあまりない方でもおすすめ。私は別にテンキーを持っていたので、敢えてこのタイプにしました。

●ポイント
請求項２の「制御する」の目的語は、請求項１から考えると、「経路」であると解されるが、請求項２を文言通り読むと、「液体燃料」が目的語となる。つまり、日本語で「制御する」は、ときどき目的語を用いずに使用することがあるが、英語"control"では、目的語を必要とする。そのため、不明確になることが多い。不明な場合は、クライアントに確認すること！
